The Defence Innovation Network has awarded $700K in grants to universities though DIN Pilot Project grant scheme as part of the NSW Government’s initiative to support defence innovation.
The DIN Pilot Project Funding Scheme funds multi-institutional collaborative research projects of up to $200K with the intention to conduct a rapid feasibility study on new defence ideas and develop these ideas into concepts that can attract further investment.
This funding provides the opportunity to build collaborations and develop ground-breaking research capabilities in NSW that will equip the Australian Defence Force with the very best technologies available.
DIN received a large number of high-quality submissions addressing the five problem statements sourced from industry and Defence. These proposals were reviewed and shortlisted by relevant defence experts and the DIN Technical Review Panel nominated by the DIN Steering Committee.
