The Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is seeking proposals for a number of current and future calls.

Intent-Defined Adaptive Software (IDAS) | Solicitation Number: HR001119S0074

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals to create novel software engineering technologies that enable automated adaptation of the resulting software system to radical changes in requirements and/or the computational environment. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, software technologies, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice. Full submission due 10 September 2019. Find out more.

Gamma Ray Inspection Technology (GRIT) | Solicitation Number: HR001119S0073

The Defense Sciences Office (DSO) at DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of intense, tunable, narrowbandwidth, and transportable gamma-ray sources for varied national security applications. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that can achieve or exceed the performance of current state of the art user facilities with a form factor that allows multiple defense applications to be achieved. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice. Full submission due 6 September 2019. Find out more.

Air Combat Evolution (ACE) AlphaDogfight Trials | Special Notice

The DARPA Strategic Technology Office (STO) will host the Alpha Dogfight Trials, a demonstration of artificial intelligence (AI) dogfighting algorithms. Independent of the DARPA/STO Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program, algorithm developers will be given the opportunity to demonstrate algorithm performance in competition style trials against adversaries of increasing complexity. The Alpha Dogfight Trials will be solicited under the Autonomy Research Collaboration Network (ARCNet) Consortium, with the goal of reaching non-traditional Department of Defense (DoD) performers and reducing the barriers to entry for the application and contract award processes.
Find out more.

Microsystems Exploration Program | Special Notice

The purpose of this notice is to provide public notification of research areas of initial interest to the Microsystems Technology Office, specifically the Microsystems Exploration program. The DARPA Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) seeks to develop high-risk, high-reward technologies that enable revolutionary advances in materials, devices, and systems and continue DARPA’s mission of creating and preventing strategic surprise. Find out more.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal for any of the above, please contact Simon Fisher on simon.fisher@austrade.gov.au who may be able to better support your application.
