The NHSRA 2020 is a detailed examination of Australia’s capability and capacity to conduct research, development, manufacturing and distribution of products and services that are essential to national health security.

Expanding upon the National Capability Audit 2017, the NHSRA 2020 will assess sovereign capability across six critical sectors including Medical Countermeasures, Medical Devices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Modelling and Simulation, Hazard Management and Sensing Systems.

Broad participation in the NHSRA 2020 is critical to developing a comprehensive picture of Australia’s preparedness for and ability to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (“CBRN”) threats.

The NHSRA 2020, led by DMTC, is supported by the Defence Science and Technology Group through its Next Generation Technologies Fund.  Multiple government agency stakeholders were consulted in the development of the NHSRA and will derive strategic insight and direction from the results.
