Project
The project seeks to optimise the compliant wall by using the Acoustic Black Hole (ABH) concept to reduce drag and noise of UUV’s by reducing the length of the turbulent boundary layer. This will be achieved by dissipating the amplification and reflections of the wall-based instabilities at the boundaries of the compliant wall, maintaining a laminar boundary layer over a part of the platform or the lifting surface.
This project addresses a multi-disciplinary problem that will contribute to the training of a highly skilled scientist with expertise in fluid mechanics, vibrations, acoustics, and material science relevant to Defence.
