About the Company
Deteqt is an Australian deep-tech quantum sensing company spun out of the University of Sydney and backed by Main Sequence Ventures. It develops diamond-on-chip quantum magnetometers based on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centre technology, delivering field-deployable, room-temperature, full-vector magnetic measurements at chip scale — targeting defence navigation, mineral exploration and autonomous systems. The team works across research, engineering, commercial partnerships and product development, and is currently building an ASCA-funded project for GPS-denied navigation
Project Objective
Deteqt’s quantum sensing experiments generate large volumes of settings, variables and analysis outputs, making it difficult to track configurations and compare results across runs. This project will deliver a dashboard that ingests experiment-run data, supports configurable views (filters, plots, summary tables) and highlights differences between runs to speed up comparison and debugging — improving reproducibility and traceability for defence-relevant sensor development.
Project Tasks
- Define a stable JSON data schema for experiment runs and map key fields to the interface.
- Build a lightweight web-based dashboard with configurable views, run comparison and filter/search.
- Update the experiment logging pipeline to emit schema-compliant data.
- Deliverables: working dashboard, updated logging code, a user guide and codebase.
Intern Skills
- Python or JavaScript with sound software-engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with data-visualisation or dashboard tools.
- Familiarity with JSON, REST APIs or logging frameworks (desirable).
- Comfortable with ambiguous requirements; communicates technical decisions clearly.
- No security clearance required.
