About the Company
Cueven is a Melbourne-based commercialisation company developing advanced multitarget nanosensor technology powered by AI for the early detection of chemical, biological, and emerging threats. Its platform is designed for deployment in high-risk environments to support rapid threat identification, enhanced situational awareness, and timely operational response.
Project Objective
This project will develop AI-assisted signal interpretation workflows for a multiplexed nanosensor platform, enabling noise reduction, crosstalk correction, confidence scoring and defence-relevant biological threat detection. The work supports the Australian Defence Force’s CBRNE capability and aligns with Sovereign Defence Industry Priorities 3 and 5, contributing to Australia’s sovereign AI-driven threat decision support capabilities.
Project Tasks
- Review biosensor signal-processing methods and define signal, metadata and confidence-scoring requirements; implement a data pipeline for synthetic/legacy and live nanosensor inputs.
- Develop a prototype AI-assisted workflow for noise reduction, crosstalk correction and biological signal classification using simulated or available sensor data; evaluate model performance and produce a readiness report.
- Test workflow performance against validation metrics (RMSE < 10%, accuracy ≥ 90%, latency < 500 ms); assess scalability from two channels to a 10–12 channel multiplexed array; refine models using real nanosensor data.
- Deliver final report, code/notebook, validation recommendations and integration roadmap for future bench-top and wireless biosensor development.
Intern Skills
- Signal processing or sensor data analysis, and machine learning or statistical modelling.
- Python, MATLAB or equivalent analytical tools.
- Biosensor, electrochemical sensor or biomedical engineering knowledge (desirable).
- Data visualisation and scientific reporting.
- Interest in defence health, biosecurity, CBRN or field-deployable sensing.
- Critical thinker, self-motivated, adaptable, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
