About the Company
Established in 2005, RYAN AEROSPACE (Australia) specialises in the design, manufacture, and through-life support of realistic, robust, accurate, and cost-effective helicopter and jet flight simulators for civil, military, and emergency applications. Over the past 20 years, the company has delivered more than 600 simulators, primarily to the US Air Force, US Navy, and US Army.
Project Objective
Design, build and test a prototype simulated throttle system for the Apache Attack Helicopter aircraft type.
Project Tasks
- Research form, fit and function of an aircraft throttle system. Gather information from internet, the real aircraft and or publicly available information.
- Produce a concept design and seek design approval.
- Produce detailed design and seek design / production approval.
- Prepare a bill of materials (BOM), have it entered into our ERP and have the Operations Manager order the components.
- Assemble the parts when they arrive.
- Test form, fit and function.
Intern Skills
- Mechanical design skills using Solidworks.
- Ability to think in 3D and have a solid understanding of mechanical workings, forces etc.
- 3D printer skills desirable but not essential. We will provide training.
- To work well as part of a team but most work will be individual.
