DAIRNet seeks proposals across a range of AI-related areas.  Up to $100K is available for researchers and industry in the initial phase.

Background

DAIRNet is an initiative under the Next Generation Technologies Fund that seeks to engage academia, industry and other government research agencies in research activities across a range of AI-related focus areas.

This program of work aims to use automation and artificial intelligence, to improve the quality and speed of processing, dissemination, exploitation, analysis, fusion and integration of real-time tactical systems data and information to provide decision superiority to Australian Defence.

Funding

The call will proceed in two phases:

  1. Phase 1– five to six preliminary proposals will be selected by a panel of subject matter
    experts, based on clear, pre-prepared criteria.  These will be funded up to $100,000 to produce a literature survey and develop a detailed proposal for Phase
     
  2. Phase 2– one or two of the detailed proposals produced in Phase 1 will be selected to proceed to a 2-year research agreement funded up to $500,000 annually.

Information Session

DSTG will provide a research program brief to all interested parties via Microsoft Teams on 14th October 2021 AT 11am (AEDT).
