Defence Science & Technology Group (DST Group) and the Small Business Innovation Research for Defence (SBIRD), part of the Next Generation Technologies Fund (NGTF), in collaboration with Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) is calling for tenders for ‘A Joint Effort – Integrating Advanced Materials onto Military Platforms – Stage 2′.

This joint call is looking for innovative technologies that enable the joining or use of advanced materials and/or designs on military platforms in land, sea and air environments.

It is being run collaboratively as part of an ongoing partnership in Science & Technology within Defence. Tender documentation, including terms of reference and selection criteria, can be viewed on our Defence Science & Technology website. The focus of Stage 1 (which was launched in Nov 2018) was on research into the technical feasibility of an innovation idea or technology related to the Next Generation Technologies Fund priority area.

This is a Stage 2 call that supports promising Stage 1 projects as well as new proposals to test the technology/innovation in a laboratory setting against a Defence application, with funding from between $200K – $350k over a period between 12-24 months.

To further increase collaboration for Stage 2 we have already implemented a LinkedIn forum along with an invitation to submit a 2-3 minute ‘Elevator Pitch’ video – to be accessed on a publicly accessible website.

The topic closes on Friday 31 January 2020.
