About the Company

Codarra designs and develops technology related to countering drones.  We plan to design a drone that is difficult to counter.

Project Objective

The aim is to produce a drone that is impervious to jamming and other attempts to influence it to complete its mission.

The candidate will be mentored by Codarra’s Chief Engineer, who will guide the candidate in the various attributes to be considered.   The starting point for this work is expected to be a commercial off-the-shelf drone but, ultimately, a drone design based on largely Australian-sourced materials.

The outcome of this project will deliver a drone that Defence can use for applications that require trust in the achievement of the drone completing its mission.

Intern Skills

The Intern should come with a background in aeronautical engineering, electronic engineering or mechatronics but would need to be able to use these skills to integrate open-source and off-the-shelf hardware to form systems.

They will need to know the fundamentals of flight control and should have software expertise in “C” and Python.  The main attribute will be a passion for drone technology and an interest in creating an Australian product.

Application

Applications must be submitted online by 5 November 2023 and should include additional documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation Letter
  • Supervisor Support Letter
  • Proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residence
(e.g. passport, birth certificate, citizenship or PR certificate)
